A little history lesson about us here at Tiny Wallet Style!
We are renters who are so close to owning their own home (but thanks to the cautionary tale that was the 2008-present economy, we are entering the housing market armed with research and a sound budget). Renting means that we have very little power to change our digs- sticking us with dropped ceilings, lots of linoleum and....sponge painting! (Did I just hear someone faint?)
Since we're glass-half-full type people, we decided to start this blog to show you how we overcome our ::ahem:: obstacles with creativity and some smart thinking. We hope that you will come along with us as we house hunt, buy and renovate a house and beyond! We're certainly looking forward to getting our mitts on a lovely fixer-upper at some point in the future- and documenting the process of turning it from house of horrors to lovely home! In the meantime, we will be posting ideas for frugal but fantastic parties (look for a recap of Mike's birthday soiree in the days to come!), great holiday solutions for budget friendly gifts and décor and more! Mike will be giving the blog some tech love, offering up posts about affordable solutions for techies on a budget- and those who love them. Since we're do-it- yourself people, we'll be taking you along as we complete projects around our little home- refinishing furniture to finding creative ways to cover up the parts of the casa that aren't really our style.
