Coming Out of the Laundry Closet

Guys. Remember that organizing conversation that we had the other day? In a typically overambitious move, yours truly decided to start our first organizing project at 8pm- tackling the laundry closet of horrors. Such a rookie move.

It can't be that bad, you might say. It's just a laundry closet- how bad could it be?

 Aren't you glad you asked?

Game Plan:

1) Get rid of everything we don't NEED in here. Put things that don't belong back in their places.

2) Group supplies by type (laundry supplies, cleaning supplies, etc.) and corral into boxes

3) Keep only a small supply of toilet paper and paper towels (see how we're eliminating paper towels here) and store the rest in our back hallway.

4) Find a better and more accessible place for the laundry detergents than the top of the dryer.

So far, we're at the beginning of step one. It's not pretty, folks. We will keep you posted on our progress. Pray for us.

  5. Thanks everyone- we're going to finish it today, so we should be back with photos tomorrow! Now that it's cleaned out it doesn't seem too terrible!

  6. When I have a tough organizing project (that I don't really want to do), I actually set a timer and force myself to work on it for just 30 minutes. I have been AMAZED at what can get accomplished in 30 minutes a day over time. Good luck as you tackle your laundry closet!
