Tiny Holidays: Matzoh Crack

Guys. Prepare yourselves for trying this if you have not. We call it matzoh crack for good reason: you literally can't stop eating it. Crunchy matzoh, sweet brown sugar caramel and creamy, melty dark chocolate. Swoon. If you have any plans whatsoever in the next week, make and bring this. And then prepare yourself to become the most popular person at the party. This is THAT good..

Chocolate Toffee Matzoh

(originally found here)

Preheat the oven to 375°f. Melt 2 sticks of butter (unsalted) with 1 cup of packed brown sugar over medium heat.

Arrange 4-5 sheets of matzoh on a rimmed baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and a sheet of parchment. Break them up as necessary.

Bring your brown sugar and butter to a boil and reduce heat, stirring frequently. Cook for 3 minutes until the caramel begins to darken and pull away from the sides of the pan.

Pour over the matzoh and spread the caramel around to coat everything in sugary goodness. *Warning, from experience: do not eat this caramel. It is super hot. You will get a bad burn and cry.*

Bake this pan of wonderful for 10-15 minutes. Check on it to make sure it doesn't get too dark. When you pull it out, it should look like:

This! Nom! Sprinkle 1 cup of chocolate chips over the top and let 'em sit for 5 or so minutes. They should be fully melted.

Spread the chocolate allllll around and let it cool. This will be nearly impossible, so break off a tiny corner piece just to test it out. Mmmm.

Break it up once the chocolate hardens. Give it to your neighbor, your dog walker or hoard it at your desk and don't give it to anyone. Not that anyone we know does that...
